Vye Music is an online application that runs in your browser and allows you to discover, stream, share and download millions of music tracks. The service is a meta-search engine, which means it collates results provided by other music engines, to provide a comprehensive music database.

Vye was designed with usability in mind, to be as light-weight and user-friendly as possible. The application runs from a single page, and uses AJAX with iframes to load new information and more music. You can browse the site as much as you like, and your music flow will not be interrupted.

The interface comprises several powerful features, which you can learn more about from the webcast below. In short, however, Vye Music lets you stream full length tracks, share them with your friends and family over social networks, or with a direct link, discover new artists through its similar artists feature, create personal libraries of your favourite tracks, and play them as a list, and even download entire DRM-free music tracks.

Vye Music was created in late 2009 by online enterprise company VEXiS Media. Charles Allatt and VEXiS developed the website following a previous foray into music earlier in the year. The previous site: iZaRia.us was a modest success and imparted invaluable lessons in design and concept for use in Vye. You've probably noticed Featured Music on the home page of Vye. But did you know you can get you or your band's music featured there entirely free. At Vye Music we want to help individual, unsigned and small-label artists work to more effectively disseminate their product. To have you and your music featured for a day, all you have to contact us with a little information about your band.

Below are some of the things you'll need before we can feature you. If you've got all that ready and prepared, head over to the Contact Us section, and express your interest. Do not include your MP3 files until they are requested via a reply email. We would, however, appreciate your blurb and links to your websites so that we can learn more about you or your band. If we decide to feature you, we'll contact you for your music.

Vye Music is by no means complete. We're already working on the next iteration at VEXiS Media. So what's coming? Vye Live is an even more exciting concept, allowing you to view and experience what other users are doing on Vye. Every time a song is downloaded, added to a playlist, saved to a library, streamed or shared, you'll know about it. Plus, you can track what your friends have been up to: what artists they've been listening to lately, and who they're following musically.

Which brings us to the best part of the future of music at Vye. With the social web getting bigger and bigger, Vye is jumping in too. You'll be able to follow the people whose tastes you enjoy, musically. With Friend Radio, you'll discover the tracks they love and expand your musical horizons, whilst Vye's own recommendation engine throws in suggestions of its own.

Vye Music is a meta-search-engine. Through a number of audio search APIs, the service is able to display a number of matching results for each query. Although our providers comply with copyright policy and the provisions of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, they do not accept resposibility for the content that appears on or through the sites of other web service providers. Vye Music does not host any of the content listed in any of the search results of the Vye Music web service.

We, Vye Music, and our search partners respect the intellectual property and copyright of others. We ask our users to follow our example in this regard. In the unlikely event that you believe in good faith that one or more of our results infringes your intellectual property or copyright, then you (or your agent, upon your behalf) should contact us immediately to faciliatate the removal of infringing links.
